A ESCONDIDAS / HIDDEN AWAY – Mikel Rueda

A História: Rafa (Germán Alcarazu) é um jovem espanhol e Ibra (Adil Koukouh) um jovem imigrante árabe; apesar das suas diferenças, entre os dois nasce uma relação que vai para além da amizade.

O Melhor: A ternura e o carinho que os dois jovens nutrem um pelo outro.

O Pior: O ritmo lento e o tempo que se perde com as brincadeiras juvenis.

O Elenco: Germán Alcarazu parece estar sempre amuado e Adil Koukouh é muito rígido. O melhor é Joseba Ugalde como o amigo de Rafa.

O Filme: Tem um argumento interessante que toca temas fortes como o racismo e a xenofobia. Quanto ao tema do homossexualismo é tratado praticamente às escondidas, como se o realizador tivesse vergonha de revelar algo menos próprio e chocar os espectadores. Gostava de ter visto mais.

The Plot: Rafa (Germán Alcarazu) is a young Spanish boy and Ibra (Adil Koukouh) a young Arabian imigrant; besides their differences, the two began a relationship that goes beyond friendship.

The Best: The tenderness the two boys share for each other.

The Worst: The slow rhythm and too much time spent with the kids playing games.

The cast: Germán Alcarazu looks like is always grumpy and Adil Koukouh is too stiff for the role. The best one is Joseba Ugalde as Rafa’s friend.

The Movie: It has an interesting script that deals with strong subjects like racism and xenophobia. As for the gay subject it’s treated virtually in secret; it seems the director was kind of ashamed of showing something that could shock the audience. I wanted to see more.
